About
Elm Grove Colts
Elm Grove Colts
Football club was established in March 1999 by Gary Falloon. The club's only team
played in their first tournament in May, 1999. And the result was surpising as
they won quite a few games and made to the semi-finals before finally losing.
In September the team entered the Surrey Primary League Division 4 Under 9's.
The team played in 3 games and 1 cup game and after very convincing wins, the
league moved them straight into Division 1. The team went on to win Division 1
and were runner-up in the league cup.
In September 2000 the club added a second team in the U10's. The first team which was promoted to the premier division the prior year, won the league by a large margin and the league cup plate final.
In the 2001 - 2002 season, the club had its first big expansion. It added 3 new teams and now had team that played U11 (11-a-side), U11 (7-a-side), U9 and U7.The same teams represented Elm Grove in the 2002 - 2003 & 2003 - 2004 except for the 2nd U11 team which drop out of the league after the prior season. Also we added a 2nd team in the U10 age group, called the Jaguars. In 2004 - 2005 the club added 3 more teams taking the club to 7 teams.
The club now had teams in the U14, U12 (Colts and Jaguars), U10 (Lions and Magpies), U9 and U8.
Today, the club has 17 boys youth teams
and a girls team, play football in 3 different county leagues. The U18s are the
original team and still have many of the boys that started in 1999. They currently
play in the Surrey Youth Football League. Also we have U17 (SPL), U14 (SPL), U13
(SPL), U12 (2 teams in SPL), U11 (SPL), U10 (SPL), U9 (4 teams on Saturday in
Epsom & Ewell, SYFL, and SPL) and four teams in the U8 (SPL and SYFL). In
the season of 2008-09 we have more than 200 registered players with the club.
In the Summer of 2008 the club moved into new grounds and are now embarking in an exciting development of its facilities. In the new home, we hope to continue to expand the number of teams, increasing the number of girls teams and continue to provide an safe and fun environment to develop young people involvement in football.
